Multi-cultural Family Support

We provide various programs for multi-cultural family who are having difficult time of adjusting to our community so they can live as sound neighbors.

Operates multi-cultural family support center

  • Educating Korean · Korean culture, education on spouses · couples · family

Korean Education Suppor

  • Writing, speaking Korean
  • Twice per week, Novice/Basic/Intermediate/Preparation for Korean Language Ability Test

Computer education support

  • Basic computer education (Internet, creating documents)
  • Twice per week

Support visiting education

  • Visiting instructors personally make house calls and educate those married migrants who can not attend classes.
  • Courses : Korean instructions (Korean Language, Counselling), Training on child care
  • Twice per week, 5 month course

Support visiting child care

  • Provide Korean language education and information on child care to married migrants with children
  • Provide short-term pre/post maternity service needed for preparing for childbirth and child care after birth to married migrants before childbirth
  • Guide on using temple, promotion, library, banks through culture helper

Support development of career for female married migrants

  • Develop female married migrants from regions speaking English, Chinese as native language instructors
  • Development of multi-cultural instructor for improving awareness on multi-culture
  • Development interpretation · translation duties for migrants

Project of connecting a mother to female married migrants

  • Forming 1:1 relationship between female married migrants and Native Koreans
  • 2009 : 40 female married migrants and native Koreans formed relationship (volunteers, visiting instructors currently active)

Sending multi-cultural family to maiden home

  • Support air-fares to low-income multi-cultural family first and support transportation expenses
  • 2009 : 3 people, planned in Jul~Aug

Support cooking classes and teaching children's songs

Operate nursery home

  • Care for young children during classes.

Multi-cultural Family Education Camp

  • Experience cultures of multi-cultural family and promote improving family ties
  • Education on communication between couples, education on parents-in-laws
